Work
I have been a designer and a coder for 7 years. I build small, simple, elegant handcrafted websites for small business and start-ups. I create websites that are simple, functional, women-friendly and easy to use. My designs employ the latest standards of good practice to deliver standards-compliant, accessible and usable websites without costing you an arm and a leg.
In 2005 I discovered CSS and W3 Web Standards and was truly in awe! I had previously been building table based websites; I am now studying an Open University Course which is opening up a whole new world of opportunities which have made web design even more fun than it was before.
I find the work I do for my clients rewarding. My passion is accessible standards based website design because I believe it has enormous benefits to my clients and their audience.
The way I work
- I am committed to making all websites accessible and usable. I feel it is the mark of a socially responsible web developer to make websites accessible.
- Clean code: By applying the latest standards of good practice.
- Simple design: I believe a simple, well designed site is one that looks good and is easy to use.
- Browser testing: I make sure your website works well in all the latest browsers and degrades gracefully in the older ones.
- I am happy to work remotely. However, if you live nearby it would be lovely to meet you.
